Goth In The Park - 2008
Although not directly associated with Woolstock (so I hope Paul doesn't mind me posting here). Since I and many other goths should be spending much of our time in Leeds this weekend I thought I'd raise the suggestion of another of our famed Goth in The Park's for Saturday 31st May.
For those that don't know this is essentially a meet up and picnic in Leeds' Hyde Park. We normally meet not far from the skate ramps amongst the shelter of the trees and request attendees bring along food of some sort (preferably chocolate! ) to share and to enjoy the company of other goths and generally attract the dissaproving stares from the normies. I've still got a disposable BBQ from last year for a few burgers/sausages.
Kick off would be around 11.30? Depending on interest/weather?
Comments/queries welcome and please spread the word to those that may not use these forums.

That's an excellent idea - hopefully the weather will have improved by then!
It might be worth knocking up some sort of map as it's a fairly big park if you don't know the area.

by the skatepark you say? What could be better than a picnic and watching eejits perform painful looking faceplants?

Can't promise this time, but might be able to make it - and might see if I can bring a couple of friends too, if they fancy it. Hope the weekend's weather is better than todays was!

Re: Goth In The Park - 2008
Well that's a couple of positive replies. However the BBC website shows a nasty grey blob with a water droplet and half a halo around it so not sure if the weather is going to be up for it. Can I have any definate takers for a meet up then, if necessary we can always find a pub/bus shelter/garage forecourt to shelter under. (although using my BBQ in a petrol station might not go down too well). If anyone can find a suitable map to post for any newbies then please do. (multimap keeps crashing on me for some reason) Cheers.

Re: Goth In The Park - 2008
The BBC news yesterday said it was going to be a dry, sunny and warm weekend so I had planned to come over with Tara. I shall watch again today before making a decision. If it does decide to rain it will be a wasted journey for me as dogs are no longer welcome in many places these days Sadly I will be bringing food just for myself as I've just been diagnosed with a nasty wheat intollerance and am now scrutinising everything that passes my lips

But I thought we were supposed to be fighting intollerance?
Did Sophie die in vain?

Re: Goth In The Park - 2008
Sorry I didn't make it - staying up till 5am in a band's hotel room discussing methods of remaining hydrated on a 50' yacht which is slowly sinking, with just bilgewater and optional coccaine available, then walking home (from the hotel, not the yacht!), does kind of preclude early starts the next day. And no, you really, really, don't want to know the answer to the above conundrum! Trust me on this one... Barbecues on petrol station forecourts? Now that sounds like a Pyromancer Plan!

Re: Goth In The Park - 2008
Late I know....but thank to those who turned up making it an enjoyable afternoon. Plenty of grub was had by all and frisbee entertainment kept the boys busy. The dog kept itself entertained by chasing skaters off their boards! Weather staying nice was a plus too. Here's to more this year!
